iGoogle
Thursday, October 2, 2008
I’ve been using iGoogle as homepage for years now. It has everything I want and everything I need. You can simply customize your page and include the applets that you want. Just like my iGoogle homepage, i have My Links (using bookmarks application) so that I wont have to manually type the URL of the websites I visit most often. Yeah, I can use Favorites but I want it right in front of my face after opening my web browser. I also have Daegu and Manila weather forecast which is really important coz the weather in Daegu is really crazy.
Plus, it’s faster to load coz it has few graphics in it.
I can even add another tab so that I wont have my applications crowding in one page. In my main tab, I included the following applets:
-
Bookmark (for my favorite websites)
-
Weather (so I’ll know if I have to put on my sweater or not)
-
Date & Time (for obvious reasons)
-
To Do list / Memo (memory gap supplement)
-
Calendar (of course)
-
CNN Headlines (I want to be updated with current news)
-
How To (random tips)
-
Horoscope (nice to know what others say about your fate lolz)
-
Quote of the Day (words of wisdom)
In my Tools Tab, I have:
-
Currency Exchange (to easily compute forex)
-
Text (i use this to text someone abroad for free!)
-
Dictionary (for some terms)
-
Word Translator (to translate words from one language to another)
I really love iGoogle. If you find it difficult to use/customize your igoogle, just let me know and I’m very much willing to help you.
